A sage-green and blush lakeside wedding at The Boathouse on Lake Charlevoix

How do I even convey how absolutely wonderful a couple is to work with? From the first moment I met the bride Bryna, it was a fantastic experience. She told me the color palette (sage, green, blush and ivory) and that she wanted a rustic but elegant touch and gold/copper accents. I suggested we create a rustic-elegant feel for the ceremony and pull in a modern feel and touches of rustic along with their metallics inside. Bryna and Kevin thought that was perfect.

These combinations really gave their day a unique feel with all of the elements incorporated, but still a cohesive one.

The couple had an adorable welcome sign for the ceremony that was a bit rustic, so I brought in our handmade wooden lanterns to line the aisle. And our super popular wooden two-post arbor, complete with gauzy voile, completed the look. The wind didn't want to cooperate, so we made sure the fabric was secured so that the view of the couple wasn't obscured. Gusting winds never stop us! Our arbor is designed to withstand them. The voile on the arbor ended up flowing just like her veil. Win-win.

Judging by that last photo, I would say everything was a hit!

Bryna and Kevin chose The Boathouse on Lake Charlevoix as their venue because it had everything they wanted: rustic style walls, but brand new and modern. And of course, the fact that it's lakeside doesn't hurt, especially if you own a boat like they do. And of course, they had to add boat photos later that day.

The reception was so light and airy, with sage green linens atop the tables, ivory napkins and blush candles everywhere. Since the couple had some modern geometric touches, I made sure to add geo-style blush votives and even throw pillows in their sweetheart setting. The rustic touches were our handmade farm table and birch slices. The reception floral was a gift from Bryna's aunt and it was perfect.

The other pieces we added to pull in their gold and copper accents were our gold geometric pillar candle holders and the signage, which was our handmade copper pipe signs and acrylic.
