There are so many reasons to get married in northern Michigan in the summer time, but I did narrow it down to ten.
10) Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! It makes getting those insanely gorgeous photos easy!
9) Outdoor weddings. Who wants to be inside? Outdoor weddings are very popular in this area, and with good reason.
8) Warm days and cool nights. Ideal for living it up all day and sleeping like a baby at night while you're here!
7) All of the activities. In the summer, almost every town has a festival of some kind. Whether it's the Cherry Festival in Traverse City or the Venetian Festival in Charlevoix, there is always something fun to do. When you aren't getting married, that is.
6) Summer fairs are also huge in northern Michigan. Google is your friend here. If you have a lot of guests attending from other areas, create a list of things to do during their stay and tuck it into the invites or include info with e-vites if you're doing those.
5) And who can forget the farmers' markets you can find in every town? Handmade goods, locally made, are the stars of our local farmers' markets. You can find soaps, home decor and other fun stuff.
4) Michigan also has a HUGE bounty of fresh veggies and fruit available in the summer. Try the world-famous cherries of course, but also enjoy corn-on-the-cob, peaches and strawberries too!
3) Michigan weather is perfection in the summer. Gorgeous blue skies, trees in full bloom and the breeze off the lakeshore.
2) Sunsets over the many lakes in this area. There is no sunset in the world more beautiful than the ones we have here. In my humble opinion, of course.
1) And one of my favorite things about northern Michigan: the beautiful beaches everywhere! I grew up in a lake town, was married on a lake and cannot think of anywhere I would rather be.
